Every Mac comes with a one-year limited warranty and 90 days of telephone technical support. The AppleCare Protection Plan for Mac extends your coverage to three years from the original purchase date of your Mac.1 With the AppleCare Protection Plan for Mac, you get direct telephone access2 to Apple experts for technical support on using OS X; quick iLife and iWork questions; and connecting to printers and AirPort networks. You also get global repair coverage3—including both parts and labour—for your Mac and select Apple peripherals.

If you purchase the AppleCare Protection Plan at the time you purchase your Apple computer, you’ll be able to take advantage of all of the plan’s features right away, including hardware onsite service for desktop computers.
Built-in telephone technical support expires after 90 days, so purchasing the plan with your Mac allows you to prevent a possible lapse in support coverage by extending telephone support to 3 years.

Given that a single repair can cost significantly more than the Protection Plan, the repair coverage alone makes your investment of pennies a day worthwhile.
